Construction of a true three dimensional volumetric display system and its imaging effect
A true threedimensional display system for a light emitting diode (LED)rotating screen based on persistence of vision has been constructed taking into account both mechanical and electrical considerations. The threedimensional image was converted into N copies of two dimensional curves in a two dimensional space system using section principles. A new scanning method—curvilinear grid discretization— is proposed for determining the positional relationships of the images and LED lights for accurate processing. Different rotation speed zones affect the true threedimensional display effect, as verified by experiments on the hardware platform. The experimental results showed that an optimum motor rotation speed zone, which can make the best display effect, actually exists in practice Furthermore, the display effect is reduced outside the speed saturation region.
