Abstract

The activity of removing acrylonitrile from the waste gas was investigated on following catalysts : metal oxides-noble metals (Pt), non-noble metal(Mn-Cu) oxides and noble metals (Pt). The fresh and reacted catalysts were characterized by BET and XRD. Those results show that the catalyst with Cu-Mn oxides as active components and ZrO2 as a promoter has higher oxidative activity. The effects of the reaction temperature and the space velocity on the conversion rate of acrylonitrile was also studied. It shows that the catalyst has good stability, which provids a basis for the further study to use the catalyst of removal of acrylonitrile in the waste gas.
