A SAPO-34 molecular sieve with the CHA framework was synthesized by a hydrothermal method using aluminum phosphate as the source of aluminum and phosphorus, and characterized by XRD, BET, NH3-TPD and SEM techniques. The catalytic performance of the molecular sieve was experimentally evaluated by taking methanol-to-olefins (MTO) as a model reaction in a fixed-bed reactor. The results showed that the molecular sieve only generated ethylene in the MTO reaction and the selectivity to ethylene was over 90%. Furthermore, the molecular sieve was found to have good regenerativity (or thermostability). Compared with SAPO-34 molecular sieves prepared by conventional methods, our product has a better catalytic performance, and thus it has good prospects for industrial application.
